How about CRM+Sharepoint in the same server?

Is that work?

Both CRM and Sharepoint on one server will work, but I would not recommend
that. Both applications do ask a lot from a server and it will be better to
seperate them. First of all because of performance, but also because in case
one of the servers go down, you still can use the other.

I agree with Ronald, but we have installed Sharepoint and CRM on the same
server in many applications, although Sharepoint has been only used as a
document storage area. Maybe if Sharepoint was fully utilised like CRM then
it may impact on performance, but using Sharepoint as document storage and
general/normal use of CRM seems to run really quick in my experience.

To Nathan, Thank you Nathan, I will try it anyway, also, could you please
tell me what's the difficult to install both software in one server?

To Ronald, Thank you Ronald, if we some server software, such as: CRM,
Sharepoint 2003, Project 2003, ISA 2004, Exchange 2003. We only have 2 or 3
servers, what's the best performance group?

Cheers,
Jim

Jim,

In one of the installations I have done in the past, Sharepoint was required
as well. Just for document storage, just like Nathans situation. It has been
some time ago, but I cannot recall any weird problems with that.

About the other question, what to put together, I think you do miss one
quite important application: MSSQL server. I would advice you to seperate SQL
from the other applications. Furthermore divide the other applications based
on he load they have to handle.
But that is my humble opinion. Maybe somebody else would advice you
different things.

Anyway I hope that I helped you

Hello,
Our company created nice tool that allows smooth integration between CRM and
Sharepoint (SPS or WSS). For example, it allows to automatically create a
site for every new created account (or lead or opportunity) by predefine
Sharepoint template.

you can see a short demo on http://www.g-s.co.il/media/wssgenerator.wmv

Please contact me if you have any further questions or interested in this
solution
