How do you report on workflows applied?

We have some workflows that are to be applied to all Accounts. The
sales manager wants to be able to see a list of all Accounts that have
the workflows applied (and the ones that haven't).

Is this possible?

Use a (new) field in the account table and set it during
your workflow. Then use the field in a new view and make
a selection on that field.
