How to switch users in browser
Posted by Munk on May 14th, 2008

I have a quite simpel question, but the answer is hard to get.
So I hope someone can help

I would like to start MS CRM 4 in a browser
It is simpel.

http://crmserver:5555
then the CRM starts with my user.

But I sometimes need to login to the browser version with another user name.

I don't see how to do this.
I have tried to delete all browser history, but still just login as my
normal user.

So I just want to have the login screen to pop up, so I can type in another
user.

Thanks, Munk

Hi,

In your Internet Explorer options, you should check your security options.
See in the Intranet Options, Custom Level, at the bottom you have User
Authentication, check 'Prompt for user name and password' instead of
'Automatic logon'.

Hope this helps,

Another option is to right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and
select Run As..., filling in the user of choice (you can also set up a
shortcut and set the properties to make it always ask for
credentials). This will open up the browser as that user and when you
type in the CRM web page it will open up as that user (for IE7 the
tabs will also carry through the user credentials). Great trick for
demos.
