- How to synch MSCRM to Outlook over the web?
- Posted by ExiguusNemesis on June 1st, 2005
Hi.
The sales bumph from MS says that MS CRM "offers both a rich client
(accessible through Microsoft Outlook) and a thin client (accessible from
anywhere through a Web browser). Users can work either online or offline to
access sales functionality from Outlook."
I have simple questions:
Does the above mean we can synch Outlook to MSCRM over the internet?
And how will we end up accessing the "thin client", the website side of
things? I.e. we'll be hosting locally, so will our non-local users have to
enter an IP address to get access?
Cheers.

In order to connect the Outlook client remotely, you will need a VPN
connection. However, the web interface can be published out as a website
using SSL and can be accessed via a URL.

Cheers Matt, I had begun to suspect that that was the case, (and our big VPN
is, by sheer felicitousness, in the last stage of being workable and secure,
so that's just peachy!)
