Import customization for entity
Posted by funboy on March 4th, 2005

Q1: Is it possible to import customizations for only one type of
object, eg. Opportunities?

Lets say I've redeployed a site and only require to import certain
customizations...any ideas?

Q2: How does one restore the actual forms after they've been
customized to a new server? Restoring dbs and importing customization
gets the metadata sorted out, but what about all the customized forms?

TIA

If you are comfortbale messing around with the exported XML, it is possible to
remove the elements you don't want to import. This is not supported, but it
works.

If you have successfuly restored a DB backup, then you should find that the
forms in the customization section show the forms from when the backup was
performed. A publish should then push them out.
