- Importing Campaign Responses
- Posted by Matt on June 19th, 2006
Hi,
Has anyone actually got the importing of campaign responses to work? I have
tried a very simple test, with just the required fields (Customer, Parent
Campaign, Response Code, Subject)
The import tool says its all a blazing success, but the 'bulk import'
activity shows all the imported contacts as failures saying 'Data Row did not
match the import type'. What an earth does this mean???
Appreciate any help.
Regards,
Matt.

means that you have imported a column of data with the wrong type - perhaps
the guid is wrong?

Hi John,
Are you suggesting I need to somehow pull together a spreadsheet with the
customer GUID's instead of customer names? Is there an easy way do this? What
about the other fields (eg. Campaign Name) does that need an ID too?
Do you know of ANY documentation around how Microsoft intended this
wonderful tool to work....
Regards,
Matt.

Hi
I've experienced the same problem. I found that the bulk import process
fails whenever a lookup field is involved. Even for contact, account and
leads, if I try to map to a lookup field, the import process fails for each
row with the listed error. In case of campaign responses, however, parent
campaign is a mandatory field and a lookup. I have to include it in the csv
file and so the process always fails.
GUID's!!!! do you mean we have to find out guid's of all attendees in the
system and include it in the csv. that sounds pathetic n i'm sure that isn't
how microsoft intend this to be.
Any insights on this one ??

Mayank
