- Installing CRM Desktop Client on a XP machine with Outlook 2007
- Posted by deh on October 19th, 2007
Installation instructions for Dummies. I have installed CRM 3.0 on Outlook
2003 machines with no incedence. However one machine in our office has 2007.
I see all sorts of postings for Rollup 2, and hotfixes. I am not a
technician, and know very little about SQL. Can someone please give me the
easiest, solution to getting CRM 3.0 Desktop Client on this machine? I dont
want to do anything that will interupt other users using 2003, or the Server
settings.
Thanks,

Hi,
You can proceed safely by installing the CRM desktop client on your machine
icw Office 2007, without disturbing other clients.
Please note the rollup patch 2 should also be installed on the server!
Best regards,

So the rollup two has no effect on SQL settings or anything? And if I put it
on his machine I have to have it on the server too? Or can I put it on his
machine and it will work until I can get a technician to install it on the
server?
PS..What does icw mean?

MS told me that there were not any known issues with Rollup 2 being installed
on client but not on the server but that they did not test that scenario.
(they did test it where the server had the rollup and not the client).
You should update your server ASAP to keep them in sync though. Any hot fix
that was released after the Rollup 2 release are supposed to rely on Rollup 2
being installed.
