Installing CRM SQL Lock failure.
Posted by Steev on September 25th, 2006

Hi all,

During install I get the following error:
Action Microsoft.Crm.Setup.Server.ImportDefaultDataAction failed.
The SQL Server cannot obtain a LOCK resource at this time. Rerun your
statement when there are fewer active users or ask the system administrator
to check the SQL Server lock and memory configuration.

The CRM and SQL reporting are on the same server and the database is on
another dedicated SQL server. The servers are brand new dual processors with
2 gig of memory in and the SQL server is on 0% cpu all the time so its not
actually a resource problem.

The install is using the network service account as I don't want the hassle
of setting up SPN's etc. according to the install doc it should work ok. If
I use a domain admin account it gets past that part but fails at contacting
the reporting services website.

Any ideas guys?

Steve
