- Internet Explorer Window Closes Automatically

Hi All,
I have several end users that have their Internet Explorer close
automatically everytime they try to access our CRM server. We've tried all
of the following common suggestions:
1) Disable google/msn/IE popup blockers
2) Make sure that the IE Security settings are set to default
3) Add the CRM site to the list of 'Trusted' sites within IE.
Anyone have any other ideas?

Can you open by http://crmserver/loader.aspx
If so, then pop-up blocker is the cause. Remember, that if they have XP
SP2, then they probably have 2 blockers because now there is one built into
IE.

Because as Steven said, a pop-up blcoker is stopping the app from working
properly. When you go to the default page, it open the loader.aspx as a pop-up
and then closes the current window. A pop-up blocker stops the new window from
opening but not the closing of the current window.

I met the same problem also, thanks for all your suggestions, however, does
it mean that I just unselect the block pop-up option in the security of IE?
If doing so will allow all sites to send pop-ups, can I just exclude the CRM
site only?

Most popup blockers have the ability to ignore certain sites. You need to
configure it to allow the CRM site.

Unlike most other web sites that trigger a pop-up blocker, instead of a
prompt from the blocker, CRM 3.0 just mysteriously closes the browser window.
The first time this happened I was doing a demo and it was really weird. It
looks like the browser exploded" since it happens so fast.
It is so bizarre, it takes a long time to track this down and figure out the
cause.
Here are my questions:
1. Why does it just close the entire browser instead of triggering the usual
"do you want to allow the pop-up" alert? Even with IE (forgetting about 3rd
party blockers nd toolbars) it doesn't trigger the usual alert line near the
top of the browser window.
2. With GoogleToolbar installed into your browser, even if the the pop-up
blocker option in the toolbar is turned off, CRM still zaps the browser.
This is very unusual and not like anything else. (It probably does the same
thing with Yahoo and other toolbars? I assume this is not some anti-Google
thing.)
3. Even when the blocker problem is resolved, everytime you launch CRM you
get an annoying "the browser is trying to close this window, is this ok" for
closing the original/outer browser window.
It seems to me the "cleverness" of CRM wanting to launch a browser window
with the regular toolbar turned off so it looks more like an app window
instead of a browser (and has less wasted screen area), is more a problem
then a benefit.
If I bookmark the Http:/..blah/loader.aspx page I can bypass this
foolishness. It gets real old after you go in and out of CRM a few times or
more an hour.
Is there an option for the loader.aspx page to supress the browser toolbar?
It would be ideal to be able to bookmark http://blah/loader.aspx?tools=no or
something like that to end up at the right place - one click launch of CRM
with reduced screen footprint (no browser toolbars).
4. Since this is such a usability issue, I would strongly suggest that the
default launch page for CRM avoid all pop-up or fancy client javascript and
simply be a "landing page" with a big logo and two links - one for launching
as full browser window and one for launching as reduced toolbar window and
then text "Please choose either of the following links to start Microsoft
CRM. Bookmark your preferred link and use it for your normal startup."
