invalid user authorization
Posted by Morten on March 14th, 2006

Hi!

I've just installed MS CRM Server 3.0 Pro. I've added myself as a System
Administrator via User Manager (I had to specify the domain administrator
user as the Identity for the CrmAppPool before User Manager would show
anything). When I try to open the default web site I get the error:

"Invalid User Authorization"
"The user authentication passed to the platform is not valid"

What could cause this and how can I make it work?

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Morten

I ended up starting the install all over again. It was in a virtual
environment so it didn't take me too long. Hopefully you get a resolution.

What I did differently on the 2nd install:

1) Didn't use a dash "-" in the server names. They were CRM-APP01 and
CRM-DC01, i just removed the dashes.

2) I installed SQL server 2005 reporting services at the time of the SQL
server 2005 install. The first time I installed I didn't install the
reporting services then installed it after the fact.

I had the same issue.
I installed Service Pack 2 and it fixed the problem.

Guys,

I had the same problem, once I added them through the Deployment manager,
everything started working.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue. The CRM was working fine for a week but suddenly,
one fine morning, I started getting this message. I've tried adding another
user through the deployment manager but that is giving me an SOAP error.

Any Suggestions????

I installed 3.0 on a Windows 2003 SP1 server with SQL 2005. Everything was
working fine until I restored my CRM database from an old server. I tried a
number of things but have not been able to fix the problem. I'm going to call
Microsoft support and will pass along the fix.
