Issues with Outlook integration
Posted by RC on July 29th, 2005

Hi everyone,
We tried to install CRM 1.2 on our W2k server machine. After a great deal of
efforts and errors, we were finally able to install the software. We then
installed the Sales for Outlook component on the desktop. After rebooting the
system we saw all the CRM related buttons on the Outlook toolbar.
Ig we then select the CRM E-mail button and fill in the relevant
information, we get an error message " An error occured while trying to send
the e-mail. Try again". If we try and add a New Account for example - we get
a "Server Error in / Application" error message. The source file is the
machine.config file in the .Net Framework 1.1 directory. The Parser error
message is "Access is denied.'Microsoft.Crm.Platform.ComProxy'".
Has anyone experienced this issue? Any helps/suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Regards

Have you installed CRM Email Router on Exchange?

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the reply. That was a missing link in the chain. I installed the
router and was able to send emails successfully.
I still however have the issue with the "Server Error in / Application"
error message. Here is how I get the error message. I go to compose an email
through the CRM E-Mail button and I select Regarding. Since I am still a
novice with this system I have setup only 3 users in the system (these users
are my AD users). With the Type being set to Account, I hit the New button.
This is where I get the error message. It says:
Parser Error message:Access is denied. 'Microsoft.Crm.Platform.ComProxy'.
It gives an error message for a specific line and the entries on that line
are:
<add assembly="*"/>
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks a lot for your help.
Regards,

Don't know, but have you applied latest rollup fixes for CRM and SFO from
www.microsoft.downloads ? Get fully patched up then try again..

Peter, thank you once again.

This problem is now solved. Evidently it was the McAfee anti-virus software
on the desktop which was causing this issue. The MS team was able to help us
out.

Thanks a million once agan.

Regards
