- License Key for MSDN Subscribers?
- Posted by MEI on November 26th, 2003
I justr downloaded and installed CRM V1.0 and am now looking to add a
license key. From the MSDN "Unversal" subscriber section I do not see this
key listed under product keys?? I also don't see it on the install CD. Any
help?
Thanks!

Sorry all, went back to the download page and saw the two license keys one
for "Adventure Works" and one for "MSDN Subscriber". Looks like it's time
for a complete uninstall, reinstall
A couple of questions to people
setting this up as a demo, are you working in a complete test environment
like out of your production active directory? I was going to set-up a unique
active directory with it's own SQL Server and Exchange Server. Does this
make sense or is it overkill?
Thanks!

I have set it up on a WS at home, I have all running on
one box, it is a bit chunky, I should have used SBS 2000
or 2003, as it is optimized to run a little tighter than
full blown Exchange, and the install would have been a bit
more convenient.
Good Luck...

I am using the microsoft virtual PC as my test enviroment, with win2k,
exchange and SQL all installed on the virtual PC, I have then setup
another VPC as the client running windows xp and office xp. It is all
installed on single processor box with 1 gig of memory. Works like a
charm. It also means reproducing the enviroment for clients is as easy
as making a copy of the VPC's harddrive.

What are your virtual PC settings (memory and other)? I also have 1 gig and
it's a bit on the slow side.
Thanks.

I have a 2.4ghz dell latitude laptop with 1gb ram.
in it i run 2 virtual pc win2k servers.
server one runs as a domain controller with 384mb ram and SQL and CRM
server two uses 256 mb ram and runs visual studio. Performance is slight
slower than my main os but nothing to stop my writing code for CRM on it!

I have a simalar setup to Johns. I have a VPC setup with win2000 with AD
using 512mb ram and my client has XP professional with 128mb ram. The
client can get a bit slow but I only use it to demo the outlook client.

I find that my virtual pc's are slow to startup but once running the speed
difference from my native OS is barely noticable.
overall I am pretty impressed with virtual pc
