The logged-in user was not found in the Active Directory.
Posted by Darryl Henderson on May 16th, 2005

I have just installed CRM. The Administrator login returns the "The logged-in
user was not found in the Active Directory." Error. 0x80040226
Source File: d:\crm\core\src\platform\security\crmsecurity\secm ain.cpp
Line Number:
2290

It worked for localhost login until a license was assigned to the
administarator, Now it returns this error every time. Other users are able to
login in. Just NOT the Administrator. What could cause this?

Hi Darryl~

I have seen this issue occur before and it could be related to a AD
replication issue or a DNS issue. First make sure that the CRM server
resolves all other server names such as the domain controller and SQL
server. If there is a problem here this could cause the error that you are
seeing.

Also, try rebooting the CRM server and see if the error still occurs.

If you have multiple DNS servers make sure that they are replicating
properly amongst each other. Do the same for the domain controllers if
there is more than one.

Does the error go away if you remove the CRM license from the administrator?

I have the same error message (0x80040226) although it is only shown as a
general error message with a "contact the system administrator." When trying
to log on as the administrator to remove the only user license, the browser
crashes. I am not aware of any dns issues and I have tried a reboot.
