Long delay when viewing a note in CRM 4 Web Client (RTM)

When I open an opportunity within the web client version of CRM 4 I find
myself staring at a green circle where the notes should be. This doesn't
happen all the time but more often than I would like. Does anyone have any
ideas? This also occurs within my Outlook client and not just with
opportunties but other records too.

I have the required software to run CRM 4 and sufficient security permissions
