Looking to purchase CRM for media sales use.

I'm in the beginning stages of researching a software that can help our sales
team manage over 1500 contacts for television commercial sales. Is it worth
my time to look into CRM further? Can it be adapted and/or customized to
enable sales staff and management to consistently monitor contacts, etc.

It's OK if you're not integrating it with Great Plains right now . . . .
and you're willing to invest in the long run . . . because this version
definitely has its share of problems, but we're crossing our fingers that
the next version will make dramatic improvements (if MS ever ships it).

your data size is not huge therefore yes crm is a possiblity. You need to
sit down with a Microsoft CRM guy and work out whether its a fit for your
business and also determine if there are any gaps is things you need that
crm cannot deliver in the current version

Definitely with investigating further. 1500 contacts is not many and MSCRM
has many ways of making this more manageable.

Yes, MSCRM is heavily customisable.

At Vigence have spent a lot of time getting CRM to work for sales teams and
to enable salespeople to be proactive and to reduce the number of clicks to
make it easier to use.
