Mapping Cutom Picklist Problems
Posted by JF on September 7th, 2006

I am having a problem mapping a custom picklist. I created a custom
attribute called New_Lender in three entities Opportunity, Quote, &
Orders. I mapped these in several ways. From "Opportunity to
Quote", "Quote to Order" and "Opportunity to Order". When I
create an opportunity and select the appropriate lender from the
picklist and continue up the process to quote or order the lender
picklist does not map. I already have created other pick lists in this
same way and they behave ok. I checked to see that the read only
integers for the picklist matched up between the attributes in the
three entities and they are identical. The original New_Lender
attribute in the opportunity entity was mapped to another attribute
that I deleted and then remapped to the attributes mentioned above. Is
this a possible reason on why they don't map. Can anyone shed some
light on this?

You might try exporting your customizations for those entities and looking
at the Mapping info in the exported XML to see if the "old" mapping is still
hanging around for some reason. It should have made you delete it prior to
deleting the other field, but you never know. If it's there, that could
explain this as is may be causing the mapping process to fail. Is there
anything in your event log? You might also try setting up trace on your
server to see if there is anything in there to help you isolate it.

Otherwise, you may need to open a support ticket.
