- Microsoft CRM installation without Active Directory??
- Posted by Jonathan on May 14th, 2004
Does anyone know if Microsoft CRM can be installed without Active
Directory?
I have seen it as a requirement in pretty much all of the
documentation, but we currently do not have it deployed and would like
to go forward post haste with our MS CRM install...
Any help or comments based on your knowledge and/or previous
experience would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonathan

You cannot install CRM without an Active Directory. It is also almost
certain that future versions of CRM will require an Active Directory as
well.
My suggestion would be to install a test Domain with Active Directory and
then install CRM there. When people connect to the CRM server on that domain
they will get prompted for a domain logon for that domain but at least that
allows you to try out CRM. If it is a tool you want then you have to work
with yoour company around installing AD etc
