If you mean the data migration framework, it is sent to CRM partners and CRM
customers. It has not appeared on the MSDN cd's yet as far as I am aware

yes your correct
fire up your copy of visual studio.net 2003 and write a program in C# or
VB.NET to migrate your data over to CRM.
I wrote a tool to import data from goldmine to crm in C#. It was pretty
straightforward but of course this will depend on where you data is coming
from

I've tasks in Outlook/Exchange public folders that want to convert in
'Cases', I've companies in SQL Database that want to create as accounts...

SDK can be use to bring data into or out of MSCRM.
Also there are third party out there that already has
MSCRM migration tools available such as Scribe
(http://www.scribesoft.com/migrateformscrm/default.asp)
