- Missing Customizations in Settings
- Posted by Bob on February 8th, 2008
I've been scratching my head on this one. Yesterday I granted privilege
rights to a security role to allow them to see the Customizations menu item
in Settings and to make changes to forms. Everything worked fine and this
user added a new tab and fields, etc. This morning when she came in she
can't see the Customizations menu item is Settings. Nothing has changed.
Her SR still looks the same. Does anyone have any ideas?

Dear here are two options to verify
1. Use administrator login and see her privilleges for settings tab /
customization etc.
2. Open user account and see restricted access
3. I would suggest if you install rollup update 2 and restart machine,
hopefull it will recover whats you want.

Her privileges are set correctly. I even gave her the Admin Security Role
and it still did not show up. This is v4.0.

I have had this problem on one site in CRM4 where the customization tab will
not show up if outlook is open, even through the webclient. If only the
webclient is used it is fine.
I am sure that it is a problem with the SiteMap, as we have customised it,
but have not yet had time to look.

We had this issue in v3 and it has to do with a shared cookie inconpatability
between Outlook and Explorer. Try deleting all the cookies via Exploer
options and if that works create a new url to the server for the web client
and get the user to run the web client via that in Explorer. Then Outlook
and Explorer use different cookies.
Blame Bill ...
