- Mixed Mode

Hello,
Our client had NT domain controller & 2000 domain
controller (Mixed Mode). Is there any way to install MS
CRM v 1.2 without convert the domain to native mode?

The install requires Native mode in the Domain being installed into. There is
no way around this as the install will pop an error message very early in the
process.

You can create a sub W2K domain that is native and install the SQL and CRM
server in this domain. But I think this is a real bad solution.

True. For one thing, if you want to use the SFO client, the client machine
needs to actually reside in the sub-domain then and not in the parent domain
which can be a real problem for some places. Not to mention the extra admin
overhead.

Correct. The domain into which you install CRM must be set to Native
mode otherwise the installation will fail. Child domains which are in
mixed mode are supported but everything related to CRM must be in the
native mode domain.
