moving MSDN CRM 3.0 installation to production environment
Posted by MSDN CRM 3.0 installation to production on June 21st, 2007

Hi,
We have installed CRM 3.0 on msdn licences and now we want to move it to
production environment (another licence key). What is the best way to do this?
Can we either:
-install new CRM 3.0 databases during the installation procces in new server
machine and then migrate date form existing databases to new using migration
tool
or
-add existing databases to new installation under new licence key

thanks in advance
Lidia

There is the MSCRM Redeployment tool that you can use. Depends if you have
data in the test environment you want to carry across or just customizations.

Customizations can be export from test and imported in production.

If your production environment is pure vanilla then I would suggest the
redeployment route.

If it already exists and contains data then I would suggest looking at the
Data Migration Framework.

Depending on what you want to export and import you could export the data to
csv and then import back into the production environment once setup.

Thanks for answer. I want to export all data: accounts, contacts,
opportunities (open and closed), customization data, tasks, appoinmenrs, phone
call

By today the msdn installation is our "production" version and users work
with CRM.
