CAN MS CRM 1.2 CO-EXIST WITH MS SQL SERVER 2000 REPORTING SERVICES?
WE CAN ONLY GET EITHER CRM OR REPORT SERVICES TO WORK NOT BOTH.
THANKS.

Yes, they can co-exist. Also, please DON'T SHOUT.

Could you please enlighten us Matt? If one has CRM 1.2 installed into the
default website, what must one do to get SRS to live on the same server?
Based on my testing, SRS automatically installs into the default website (no
choice) and when installed into the same website as CRM 1.2, SRS doesn't
work. What am I doing wrong? Is there some extra configuration required...
maybe some editing of the web.config?
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Jefffff,
I know there are people who have it working. I personally have never
configured the v1.2 SRS release as I haven't had a customer willing to go
down that path. I could talk about how v3.0 is configured, but that
wouldn't help you. ;-)

Thanks Matt. I know there are people who have done it. In fact, in
conversations with Microsoft Support Professionals in other departments
(while on other support cases) I've been told that it can be done. I've been
told it has to do with the web.config.
For whatever reason, Microsoft hasn't published the solution in a TK.

hmmm..
after seeing this article as well..

it looks you you have to install srs to the default web site although you
could then create another web site and move it over..

Thanks for your posting John. I think I found an even easier way...
My default website had already been renamed by CRM. I created a second
website, named it default website, then used the metabase editor in the IIS
6.0 resource kit to change the identifier on the CRM website to 2, then
change the new default website to 1, then installed SQL Reporting services.
It installed into the new default website. Then I changed CRM website back
to 1 with the metabase editor, just incase that mattered for anything (of
course changed SQL Reporting to 3). So far all seems to be working.
