- MS CRM won’t allow one salesman to multiple teams
- Posted by IfThenElseEndIf on October 17th, 2007
I have a customer using the Sales Lead Tracking module that they have
salesmen various sales teams. These sales teams are set up as business
units. But sometimes they may have a specific salesman assigned to multiple
teams but MS CRM won’t allow one salesman to be assigned at the same time to
multiple teams. Is there a workaround?

I have to admit I haven't heard of a "Sales Lead Tracking module". Is this a
3rd party add on?
But I can tell you that Microsoft CRM "Teams" are not defined as business
units.
It is true that a user can only belong to one business unit - but users
should be able to belong to more than one team - using "Teams" as they are
defined in the core product. Teams and business units are different things.

Hi Jim,
Thanks for your reply. They are using Sales module of MS Dynamics 3.0.
Does that mean that they can have Business Units and at the last point of
control create Teams and assign one or more users in the Team?
Dave.

Yes - That is the purpose of teams - to allow groups of users to cooperate
especially if they are in different business units.
