I recieved the images DVD from microsoft, and they recomment 1GB RAM.
has anybody tried to install server and client virtual images on a
notebook / PC with less RAM than 1GB? what are your experiences?

It will work but will be very slow. More ram is better and also good to load
the images onto a second drive seperate from the drive your operating system
is on
