Multiple referential lookup in contact form
Posted by Death Angel on September 19th, 2007

Hi all,

I've created a custom entity that is a referential of honorific titles
(Sir, lord ...).
In my contact form, I've 2 types of name : registration name and
patronymic name. For both of them, I need to associate an honorific
title, which can be different.
So I've created a first relation 1 to n between my custom entity and
contact entity, type of relation referential, for the registration
name.
But when I want to create a second relation (type referential) for the
patronymic name, it fails, saying I cannot create more than one
cascading relation.

Is there a way to do this without using a parental relation ?
I think of creating a copy of my custom entity, but then I lose the
benefit of a referential...

Anyone can help ?

Thanks in advance.

DA

Hi,
You cannot create more than one relationship with same entity. This is the
customization restriction of MS CRM 3.

I'd just use a couple of picklists ( and make then consistent with each
other ) - allowing users to create extras of these titles you end up with a
mess

Hi DA,

This is Mike responding. How about that picklist idea? Would that suit
your needs?

Thanks!
