- New User KBA problem
- Posted by Tony on November 10th, 2004
We have a new user in our CRM system who has rights to view and approve
Knowledge Base Articles, however, it seems he cannot view KBAs that were
CREATED before he was a member of the system. In the KB Manager, no "older"
KBAs are viewable in any section, but all KBAs created since his addition are
viewable. The User CAN see all KBAs in the Knowledge Base in the "Workplace"
area, but when he attempts to open an OLD one, he receives an error saying he
does not have privledges. However, the newer KBAs open just fine. Is this a
CRM quirk we are stuck with? Or is there a way around it? This user is our
new Director of Operations, and will needs access to ALL KBAs...
Thank you!

this might be the issue where the security descriptors are not up to date
for the old records. Microsoft MBS support can supply a utility to re-write
the descriptors to bring all your crm records in line with the security
roles
