Newbie Dumb Question re Quotes/invoices
Posted by ShannonInOZ on February 21st, 2007

Hi, i am very new to CRM, and I have it running and working on my network.
Anyway, my question is in relation to using it. I have successfully setup my
products, price list, contacts, accounts, etc.

I then proceeded to run through a test process from start to finish. I
created my lead, then made it an opertunity, then i created a quote, added my
products, etc.

Now heres the part where i'm confused. Once i have created and made avtive
my quote, i want to print a copy off to give to my customer. When i try to
print the quote, i get a basic dump of the info on my screen, no nice
presentable quotation.

So my question is how do i go about doing this?

It is probaly a really dumb question, but i am a systems admin, not a
customer relations manager, or sales person, i just need to get it all
working for my boss.

Microsoft CRM Report via SRS is a good option to look into for this.

Check out the Sandbox download area for Quote/Order/Invoice reports
http://www.gotdotnet.com/codegallery...e-ee9cbc71a404

edmar uploaded a few of them that may fit the bill.

Good luck.

Another (more costly) resource is c360's Mail Merge tool.

The advantage there is if you need a variety of Quote templates (say for
different business units) each with different data field requirements (one
for a BU that offers goods, one for a BU that offers services). Since they
render in MS Word, development/customization time is minimal

Thanks Guys,

I will look into both your answers.

I didn't realaise that CRM did not have this sort of this built in, i just
figured i was doing something wrong.

Now i understand that i need a report to do it, so thank you both.

Cheers,
Shannon

Hi Shannon,

Did you ever get a nice report being printed out for a quote for a customer?
I have the same requirement in CRM 4.0. There is a standard report called
'quote' that exists, and is close to what i might like, but needs my logo,
and some fields changed/moved.

How did you progress?

Cheers
