- No Settings tab in browser? - NOT a repost!
- Posted by David Keogh on October 16th, 2006
I'm an admin on the CRM server, and am listed in the CRM users list as a
System Administrator.
I know about the issue with having Outlook CRM open at the same time. On my
workstation, I have no settings tab regardless of whether Outlook is open or
not. I even uninstalled the CRM client and rebooted, with no luck.
I *can* see the settings tab in the web interface when I open the web
interface via IE on the actual server where CRM is installed. But not on my
own workstation.
My co-worker is also a CRM admin, and can see the Settings tab just fine on
his workstation. He has never installed the CRM client, however.
Suggestions?
David

I resolved the issue by clearing cookies out of my local IE cache. Now I'm
confused -- the KB article says that the cookie is only any issue while
Outlook CRM client is open; that the cookie is cleared when Outlook closes.
So... I'm making the assumption that sometimes the cookie isn't cleared, and
survives reboots. Hence my issue.

Every morning when i open outlook i manually go in and clear my cookies
in order to see my settings tab. The frustrating thing is microsoft
designed it this way so it wouldnt confuse users.
I have yet to think of a good solution but if you find one please post
it here.
