- Notes in Leads...

CRM 3.0 - Notes in Leads don't follow to the account that is created when
Lead is promoted.
If I enter a note on the Notes Tab in a lead, I want to have those notes
copied to the Account that is created from that lead. Is there a way to
make this happen?

Activities and notes on leads are not moved to a contact or account when
qualified. The thinking was that you can still access the original lead
therefore there was no need to copy this information across. That said it
would be possible to write a solution to copy the activities and notes over
to the resulting account or contact. However at this time this solution has
not been written so you would need to dig out the SDK and visual studio and
get coding :-)

Too bad their thinking didn't include the fact that most people want all
their information in one place and don't want to have to jump between
accounts and leads to find what they are looking for. They should have
atleast given the option.
Thank you, though, for your explanation and insight. I appreciate it.

Technically this is a business process type dilemma. The design of the
software is that the leads pool is used to qualify leads.. once a lead is
qualified (first touch) convert it to an Account/Contact and market the
Account Prospect. Then track all the historical dealings.
