- Notes Tab Hanging
- Posted by Joan on April 3rd, 2008
When opening the Notes tab in any of the entities, sometimes all we get is a
green circle going around like it's searching for data. It happens
sporadically, not always on the same account or contact. I have been advised
to press F5 to refresh the screen. This seems to work, but we would like to
see a better fix. Thank you.

Sorry I dont have a solution but I wanted to point out that you are not
alone, we also have this issue. I think there is a bug that MS will have to
fix.

We are having this same issue. I also think that it is really affecting
performance when utilizing the onload event of the form. Has anyone else
seen this?
Thanks!

Just wondering how many notes that you have in your MSCRM database? To
get the count, access the AnnotationBase table in the MSCRM database.
If you have use notes intensively, you should have many records
return.

Darren,
This is a relatively new implementation with a small user base so I can't
image there being that many note record. However, I can take a look

I have the same issue from time to time. I think that it's somewhat related
to the Outlook CRM Client running. If I close it, the Notes tab usually
works fine. I'm not totally sure though.

We have almost 9500 notes in the MSCRM database.
Thank you,

We're having the same issue. We upgraded from 3.0 and we do not have the
Outlook CRM Client deployed in our organization. We only have about 52,000
records in our AnnotationBase table. We get the problem when opening the
notes tab for entities where there are no prior existing notes as well as
entities that have existing notes.

Hi,
we have the same problem. Sometimes the notes do not load. Pressing F5
on the window helps to get them almost every time!
Is there any solution coming?
Thank you!

Yes we are also having this problem. I don't thing it is a performance or
capacity problem as we had the problem since day one with a single
telemarketer working on a new database. We have upgraded the CRM & SQL
servers memory and also given the telemarketer an new PC with 2GB of memory.
Still hangs!!!
Do you people with problems have the SQL database on a separate machine to
the CRM server application?

Uwe,
I have the SQL server on the same machine as CRM. Additionally the machine
is a Dell 2950 with dual Quad Core Xeon E5335 cpu's, 4GB of RAM, and 15K RPM
SAS raid drives.

Then I dare say it is not an issue relating to low spec equipment.

Delete the users Windows profile, then recreate it
This has worked worked me in the past

We have the same problem (version 4.0) as well. It helps with F5, but not
acceptable. Hope MS will come up with another solution in the next Hotfix -
soon!

We have the same problem here after upgrading to v4 from v3. Very annoying.
This must be fixed by MS. Any word on a fix yet?
