Notify user when a tasks is assigned to them?
Posted by peter smith on April 30th, 2008

Hi all.

Just getting to grips with CRM 4 havent used it since 1.2. I would like the
user who is assigned a task to receive an email notifying them that it has
been assigned to them. Can this be done? HJad a quick look ino Workflwo but
you had to select the user in the to/from of the email where as this would
not be known

Thanks

You can create a workflow on tasks triggered on Record Assigned event.
Then add sSend Email activity and click on the properties buttons.
Select the To field and, using the dynamic assistant on the left side,
pick up Look for: Task and then Owner.

PS: Just add a validation to avoid sending an email if the creator is the
owner.

Thanks for that but it only shows me user or group in the selection fields
in the email? Have I missed something?
