OnSave or OnChange population of a date field
Posted by JVX on December 21st, 2006

Please help...

I'm looking for an event script (either OnChange or OnSave) that would
populate a date field. The date field to be populated is dependant on
the creation date field (case) and 2 picklist fields.
The aim is to achieve a SLA deadline time for a new case. The SLA
deadline date will be influenced by case severity and subject and is
based on the creation date. I imagine that the easiest way to approach
it would be to stipulate time addition to the creation date, based on
the criteria defined by the fields that the SLA deadline date field
depends on.
I have tried a few scripts that I found online, but non has yet
delivered the required results.

I understand that some workflow functions might be required (or can
this all be done using workflow? - I have used workflow for case
escalation based on time after creation date)

Unfortunately I'm not all that strong on the development side of MS
CRM, since my focus is on market interaction strategy consulting,
employing MS CRM 3.0 as the technology solution in this specific
instance.

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks

J

Thanks Chad.

That I have implemented with workflow....the difficult part I face is
to automate the SLA deadline time through OnChange or OnSave
