Opening User Manager in Deployment Manager
Posted by Shannon Moore on January 13th, 2004

I am Running CRM 1.0. When I got to open the the
usermanager in Deployment Manager I get an error "ther
server local host is not responding. This might happen if
it is currently unavailble, it is not a CRM server or you
do not have sufficeint priveliges to run Usermanager."

I am running the deployment manager (User manager) on the
crm server. All CRM and necessary SQL services are
install. My account has all sufficient privelges.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem.

Can you open other utilities within Deployment Manager?
Are all the necessary services running?
Is the account that you are logging on with assigned a CRM
licence? During setup you should create the Administrator
user within CRM. This account can then be used to run
Deployment Manager. Only accounts with sufficient
priveleges and a valid CRM licence can use CRM or any of
the associated tools.

Hope that this helps

I've just discovered that I'm experiencing this same
problem. Actually, I get the same error message when I
try to run Workflow manager or Workflow monitor. I can
however access everything else within Deployment Manager,
just not "User Manager". I discovered the following in my
IIS logs:

2004-01-13 14:14:35 127.0.0.1 - 127.0.0.1 80
POST /mscrmservices/bizuser.srf - 500

This entry corresponds exactly to the time that I try to
access User Manager. Interestingly enough, I experince
the same error when I try to install the Outlook client
(See my previous post on that from yesterday). Any
insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Chris

P.S. I should also mention that access to CRM via web
works just fine, no errors there at all.
