For now, you have to contact Microsoft support to get it.

FYI - You do not have to contact Microsoft to get this hotfix. You can
request it right from the KB (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948045/en-us)

From within the KB:
To submit an online request to obtain the hotfix, visit the following
Microsoft Web site: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=6294451

This specific hotfix is to address the issue mentioned towards the beginning
of this thread. "Outlook stops responding when you track an Outlook contact
in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 client for Outlook when you have contacts
with birthdates or ann. dates earlier than 1/1/1970 midnight UTC"

If you have applied the hotfix and are still seeing this error, please open
a support request with Microsoft to assist further.

Thanks!

Yes I am having the same problem with Outlook 2003 as well - it seems to be
the same problem on different versions of outlook with CRM 4 - No idea how to
fix - I have tried turning off the syncing and it has not crashed so far
(25mins), I am interested in the idea of deleting the mail profile - has
anyone tried that from exchange? If so how do you delete the profile without
losing all emails? All feedback is welcomed!

Although I am not running 'CRM' I have the same issue with every time I try
to add a birthday to outlook 2007. I am in a home user, stand alone
environment.

Adding a birthday to a contact, causes a crash... so yeah, I am too waiting
for a hotfix as it seems many of us are...

thanks...

Hello,

We had the same problem but with Outlook 2007 and CRM v3.0.
Looks like we fixed it by adding the local crm server to the security sites
in the local intranet zone (in internet options).
This prevents it from timeouts, which where the error occured in our
situation.

Good luck!
