Outlook Syncronization zero

If I add a new contact in Outlook, shouldn't it sync with CRM contacts
automatically? Or is the only way to get it into CRM contacts is by "track in
CRM"?
I just imported in a lot of contacts into Outlook with Cardscan and need to
get them into CRM Contacts.
