Hello,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to add the outlook desktop client
functionality to the OWA (outlook web access). Perhaps this is a silly
question, but I believe this would be a useful feature.

Unfortunately the answer is no. Microsoft doesn't support any add-ons for
OWA, including their "own" CRM system.
