The page cannot be displayed - Aftre 30 Minutes.....
Posted by Bebandit on April 3rd, 2006

HI, I am working with CRM 3.0 and after 30 minutes of use, the program shows
the standard "The page cannot be displayed" error and I mus reboot or log off
and then back in. I looked in IIS to see if there was any time limitation,
but didn't see anything. Does anyone know why this might be happening? It is
almost as if the Windows login information isn't there any more and when I
log in to windows, it restores it?? Any thoughts would be great.

Bebandit,

I see that a lot and have yet to track down the root cause.

Usually, just closing all of your browser windows and opening a new one,
then reattaching to CRM will solve the issue.

Thanks for your response. I tried shutting down all the browser windows and
it still doesn't work. It was sorth a try.

Any other ideas??

I can't release this to all the users on the network if they have to reboot
every half hour

I think I've found the solution:
Go to Start-->Control Panel -->Administrative Tools and then Internet
Information Services

Under Websites, find your CRM installation and right click it. Click
properties.

Under the Asp.net Tab click on edit configuration.

Then click on the state management tab and change Session timeout to some
huge number like 5000.

This seems to be working for me!!
Good Luck

Hi Bebandit,

I had a client with a similar problem. I would start by checking to see
if CRM has created any app pools within IIS, if it has'nt then this is
a problem. We found out that for some strange reason the client's IIS
server was set to run in "IIS 5.0 Isolation Mode" and because of this
the install to V3.0 did not create them.

To fix the problem, turn off "IIS 5.0 Isolation Mode" and (if there are
no other websites on your machine) point the crm website to the
DefaultAppPool, else try run the repair feature of the CRM install with
this flag turned off.

Good luck!
