Picklist not picking up original values
Posted by sldelagarza@gmail.com on June 23rd, 2008

hi!

I have created custom picklists and it appears the only way I can
import data into these picklists is to use the number that CRM creates
for it (i.e., value 1 = Very Happy). I have tried to put in Very
Happy (case sensitive matching the attribute) in the import file and
it doesn't like it. I have to put in the number of the value (1) and
it will import fine. This is going to cause a couple of issues: 1)
changing all of the data in each column to match the value number and
not the name; 2) will cause the number to show up in CRM, not the
actual value (Very Happy). It also appears to ADD the numbers to the
picklist attribute I created somehow also. I'm not too worried about
that, although it would be nice to know why. If anyone can help, I'd
be very appreciative.

thanks!

Are you using the Import Data Wizard to import your data? If so you should be
able to map the value in your file to the correct picklist value but you'll
have to do a manual data map. Select your picklist field and click on the
List Values mapping link and match the picklist value in CRM to your data
field.

That should give you want you need.
