Is it possible to run CRM Sales for Outlook on W2K server??
Posted by Vignir on April 2nd, 2004

I have spent lot of time trying to isolate the problem and
it's very strange that this works on one computers of 4
wich have the same config except the operating system(same
version of Outlook is installed etc.). The other 3 keep
telling me that CRM sales for outlook is already
installed, there has no one been around those boxes except
me and it's clear that CRM Sales for outlook has never
been installed.

the exact error is:

Microsoft CRM Sales for outlook is alreay installed on
this computer. if you want to uninstall Microsoft CRM
Sales for Outlook, go to Add/Remove programs in control
Panel. (if you don't see Microsoft CRM sales for Outlook
in Control panel then another user installed it and that
user will need to remove it before you can continue
installing this version.

I have not found anything stating incompatability with my
configuration and i'm therefore confused.

thanks in advance.

Make sure that the MSDE data repository is removed and that there are no reg
keys entries for MSCRM under the local machine/software/microsoft key.
Sometimes a failed install will cause this.
