QuickBooks and MS Small Business Accounting Integration with CRM 3
Posted by Daniel on July 20th, 2006

This question has come up a few times but it doesn't seem like anyone has
been able to give it a decent answer, so I'll pose it again since we've had
several customers ask for it.

Is there any ISV out there that has developed an integration solution
between CRM 3.0 and QuickBooks and/or MS Small Business Accounting?

Customers expect MS to at least provide integration between SBA and CRM but
the only thing we've seen is GP9. It seems logical enough to the customers
that have asked for it that MS would support their own product and not rely
on ISVs for that. By only providing GP9 integration, it steers this solution
toward the mid-market since GP9 is overkill for many SMB customers.

And QB is the grandaddy of them all. Customers are asking for the ability
to have accounts created in QB after they're created in CRM, or to have A/R
balances posted in CRM from QB.

The responses I've read so far are always "yeah, seems like something some
ISV would do". But I haven't seen any ISV actually step up to do it yet.
Other responses are "why would they want to do that?", or "enter the data
twice". Since they're the customer, I leave that for them to decide. I
personally would not want to do double entry of account info myself so I can
understand why they'd ask - one reason people buy CRM is to automate
processes and streamline things that took many steps before CRM, like having
to enter the same info into 2 systems.

Scribe probably won't do this without a lot of work, and Synergration has
some nice tools but it's also not a CRM specific solution.

So has anyone seen a CRM 3.0 specific solution from an ISV for QB or SBA
integration?

I spoke with this company a while back. They say they have the connectors
you are looking for.

I dont have a problem purchasing one of there connectors for QB for a client
but I thinks its crazy to tell a client they have to buy this connector to
bring SBA or SBF together with CRM workgroup edition since all 3 products are
Microsoft.

Whenever you try to find out if the CRM 30 WG Edition is going to work with
SBA or small business financials nobody nows

the link below should help

Hi Daniel,

We acknowledge the need for this integration, and to address this need, our
company is currently developing CRM2OA, a connector between Microsoft
Dynamics CRM 3.0 and Microsoft Office Accounting 2007.

Inline with this venture, we are looking for CRM users, small business
specialists and interested professionals who are willing to be our advisors.
Advisors will have the chance to influence the features of the software we
are building and will get to evaluate pre-release versions of our application.

If you are interested to learn more about the program and how to be an
advisor for CRM2OA, you could visit our site at
http://gurangosoft.com/advisor.aspx. You can also find our contact
information there.

Thanks and hope to hear from you!

Kath
