Hmmm. Does anyone else notice the Catch-22.

Microsoft give you tools to help you prepare for the exams on PartnerSource.

You can't access PartnerSource unless you pass the exams!

That isn't true. I know when we first signed up to be a MBS VAR, we were given
access to PartnerSource prior to passing any of the tests.

Sorry Matt. It is true now.

The official response is that you can't access PartnerSource until you have
become a partner (makes sense) - you can't become a CRM partner until 2
individuals have passed the CRM exams.

Do they differentiate at all between a "CRM Partner" and an MBS partner? I know
we had only a few months to get the minimum level of certifications required to
attain our full fledged CRM & GP partner status when we started.

I know alot of this changed last year when they merged in with the core MS
partner program, but I know they still had levels of partner classification.
Seems odd they wouldn't still be giving the provisional access to allow you to
get the certifications.

We do CRM only.

In fairness to MS, the did pay for training prior to the EMEA release. This
was back in January. Unfortunately, because of one reason or another, the
training company could only deliver 1.0 training. The guy who went to do
the Implementation exam was done-in with the migration framework because
that wasn't on the 1.0 course and we didn't have the 1.2 training guide
(which we have since bought from MOC - but he has now left the company!!!).

Anyway, we should have the final leg of the certification completed soon and
it will be a mute point for us.
