I had the same problem, with a simple solution. I didn't have a WINS server
address defined on my workstation. Wins is required to make the connection
work. If you don't have WINS Server loaded on your server, load it, and
point your workstation at it. CRM for outlook will find the server then.
Nope, dns isn't enough evidently. BTW, found this solution on CustomerSource
too.
