- Read Only field options

I am attempting to create a support process in CRM that is similar to the
built in Sales process that that is offered. I need to display the status of
an account on its main form. I originally planned to accomplish this by using
a Read Only field but have found out that this can not be done. Does anyone
have any suggestions on how to display this custom status without allowing it
to be edited? Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You can create read-only field but that is by doing some unsupported
customizations. It involves adding javascript into the existing pages, which
will set the fields to read only.
