Reason why Quick Campaign Doesn't Allow Attachments?
Posted by Kate @ MCC on August 1st, 2006

Does anyone know why Microsoft doesn't allow attachments with doing an email
via Quick Campaigns? My users keep asking me and I would like to give them
an official answer.

Consider what a major mess it would create on the web.. A sales person
generates a quick campaign to 2000 plus prospects and he/she attaches a
large PDF.. off it goes hammering the internal exchange server etc..

With this being said the MS CRM development team has released some new
updates via hotfixes that alter some of the mail campaign limitations.

Ann! Do you know what mail campaign limitations have been fixed? I personally
consider this part of CRM one the weakest ones.
Do you know how to get this hotfix?

Hi mkatsev,
The hotfix that was released allows automatic sending of e-mails. Earlier
when web e-mail option was used in the quick campaign, the e-mails were NOT
automatically sent. To get the hotfix, one needs to call the CRM support
team and get a download from them.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the attachments requirement. I have
heard this issue from customers and partners and have entered it into our
tracking database to be tracked for the future release.
