- Reassign account type to user
- Posted by Andrea on September 20th, 2005
I have a group of 400 accounts with a specific account type that needs to be
reassigned to one user. Is there a way to reassign a large group to one
person?
Thanks,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
yes - there may be a better way but this is how I did something similar...
1. use Advanced search to find all Accounts of the type you want
2. Select all the search results (Ctrl A)
3. Click the Actions menu then Assign
4. Then click the next page and repeat the steps 2 & 3
You can only assign as many as you can see - so you may want to set your
default results to 100 so you only have 4 pages in your case.
As I say, there may be a slicker way - but this worked for me.

Ian,
Thanks for the help. However, when I use Advanced Find, the "actions" menu
does not come up. It's still the first screen with File...New...GoTo... not
actions.
Sorry if I seem dense. I'm usually pretty computer literate. Not today, I
guess.
Thanks again,
Andrea

Advanced Find is divided into two sections - top is search criteria, bottom
is your results. Just above your results set, there is a blue bar. Look to
this blue bar for the Actions you seek.
And don't feel alone....took me a couple of posts here to find this as well.

I wasn't looking close enough, I guess. That actions thing in the advanced
find search results isn't easy to see!
Thanks for the help!
