- Recovering CRM
- Posted by Mauricio Orrego on July 25th, 2005
CRM server was reinstalled and the data bases recovered also, but the OU
from ActiveDirectory was deleted. does any solution to recover it? doest it
possible to associate existing data to a new OU?
does some one have the "CRMADRecovery tool"??

Unless you have a system state backup of the AD to recover near the point of
failure. I would submit a support ticket to Microsoft CRM Support for this
one.
Good luck.

ouch this is a bad one...if you cannot recover the OU from AD you are in
serious trouble as all the data is specifically tied to this OU and its
contents. You need to contact MBS as frank suggests and raise a ticket as
this is a critical issue. If you find an answer can you post here

Mauricio,
we had exactly the same scenario with our CRM install. I eventually managed
to get it back working by basically reinstalling a fresh copy of CRM with a
new db, recreating the users then, after exporting the old SQL db's to MS
Access, reimporting the data into the new db's and copying & pasting the
security details to each record.
A very long winded process (luckily we only had a few hundred entries) and
not 100% successful as we do get occassional security issues when new users
try to access old records, but it did get us back up working again.
I would recommend asking MS for their suggestions before resorting to this!
