- Posted by Thorsten Dreiner on March 31st, 2006
Hi there,
I've created a new entity an d now i would like to build a relationship
between this new entity and accounts/contacts. But I only can create a
relationship to contacts OR to accounts. I would like to have a relationship
to contacts AND to contacts. The user should select than, if he wants to use
an account or a contatct. (like in invoices)
Can anybody help?

Hi Thorsten,
From your custom entity you need to create a many to one relationship with
referential type (not parental) to the account and the contact. When you
display the fields on the form make sure neither are mandatory and therefore
the user can select which entity to link it to. You haven't indicated which
entity parents this new entity - this might have a bearing (if for example
the account object parents this new entity you can't have another
relationship to the account). Hope this helps.
Regards
Pete.
