- Removing all Sharing of Contacts/Leads
- Posted by David on August 13th, 2004
Somehow, tons of our Contact/Lead records have been
shared between our SC's. Is there a way I can simply
kill all of the sharings of Contacts/Leads that exist in
our CRM?
Thanks!

You cannot kill all shares from one place. At this point you ned to do some
detective work and work out why suddenly all these shares have appeared. Are
all you users in the same business unit. Is it possible they are seeing each
others data because they have security rights to see each others data?

There was a problem with a custom built app that
accidently gave ownership of an account to a different
person, so sharing was propogated to all contacts
associated to the account.
It's been corrected, but it's unknown how many accounts
this affected.
What table is the sharing information stored in? What's
the best method I can use to detect and fix this problem?
Thanks!
