Removing MSCRMDistribution DB
Posted by Louis on September 11th, 2003

Well, I'm in a bit of a bind here because the Distribution DB is taking up
about 2GB, which is taking up all of my hard drive space. I tried to
disable publishing, but I was told that I couldn't do it because my disk was
full.

So I just moved the file over temporarily to a different drive letter and
now the Distribution DB is grayed out and considered (suspect).

What are my options at this point? Just put MSCRM on a different server or
rebuild it on a different drive with more space? I was hoping to just be
able to disable publishing and having the Distribution DB size reset since I
didn't need Outlook integration on it.

Regards,

Louis

wow, you're more reckless than I am!!

If I were you and had given resources at my disposale, its MUCH easier if
you just get another hardrive for you SQL box and migrate them there.
Migrating them to a different SQL box (has to be same domain) is far more
complex.

Once you get that drive installed check out a post I did here not too long
ago about moving the CRM databases over,......or in a nutshell, turn off
Agent, and just do the backup/restore method,........

good luck,
Gary
