- Rule ?
- Posted by Jack Nielsen on July 8th, 2005
CRM 1.2 Sales prof.
I have made a manual rule that updates 3 custom account fields from true to
false. They worked fine before but now the customer get an error stating
that he isn't allowed to make the change. The systemadministrator with all
rights can't apply the rule either.
Can it be because of the rollup fix or something ?
It is a very simple rule so I don't have a clue, can anyone help me out
here, thank you !
Any thought is welcome !

Have the fields been modified since you created the rule? Are they running
the rule against one record at a time, or against many records? Can you
re-create the rule and get it to work? That's where I'd start.

No the fields hasn't been changed, only if the rollup update do somehting
with the fields.
I've tried on one and many, same result. I've tried to copy the rule and run
that, but haven't made a new one.
The server hasn't been restarted since the update, could this be the reason
?

an account that is systemadministrator ?

I've found a solution for the problem !
Found this in the event log
The machine-default permission settings do not grant Local Activation
permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{41A1414D-D004-42B3-8A84-75BF8A6A4DC9}
to the user LABELLING\mh SID (S-1-5-21-204040002-3523758963-532889903-1177).
This security permission can be modified using the Component Services
administrative tool.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I then added domain users to the security settings via the dcomcnfg snapin
and now they are allowed to run the rule !!
